Sometimes you want a milkshake. Sometimes you want a milkshake with a twist. This one is just too easy and delicious to pass up.
I have been craving a summery margarita, but I didn’t have any limes or limeade in my kitchen. I did, however, have lemon juice. So after some experimentation (quite fun!), I came up with this.
- Equal parts simple syrup (half cup water and cup sugar, see below), tequila, and lemon juice
- Enough ice to make a smooth, creamy drink
If you’re like me, you don’t spring for heavy cream. So my white russian just uses whole milk instead:
- One part coffee flavored liqueur
- One part vodka
- Four parts whole milk
1. Mix all together and pour over ice* in a cocktail glass. Serve.
*I don’t like ice. So I keep my coffee liqueur in the fridge and my vodka in the freezer. Then I can skip the ice and have a drink that tastes good from the first sip to the last.
